Bobcat Final Drives- E Series Diggers and T Series Loaders. One Supplier. Zero Compromises.

Bobcat built its reputation on machines that go where others cannot, zero-tail-swing E-series excavators threading through confined urban sites, and T-series compact track loaders counter-rotating through full-shift construction cycles. What both machine families share is a final drive assembly absorbing every hour of that workload directly within the undercarriage system.

At Imara Engineering, we supply OEM-quality Bobcat final drives and final drive motors as part of our complete undercarriage parts range, including rubber tracks, sprockets, and rollers, all matched to the operating demands of E-series excavators and T-series compact track loaders. Each final drive is pressure-tested before dispatch, supplied with a full oil charge, and ready to install. We ship worldwide.

Collection: Bobcat Final Drives

Two Machine Families. Two Final Drive Demands. One Critical Distinction.

Bobcat produces final drives for two fundamentally different machine types and the distinction between them matters more than most buyers appreciate when searching by brand name alone.

The Bobcat E series is a zero tail-swing mini excavator range. E series final drives operate under the load profile of compact excavator travel, directional travel across varied terrain, slope traversal, frequent repositioning on confined sites, and the sustained torque demands of excavation work. The hydraulic pressure rating, planetary reduction ratio, and seal specification are engineered around this operating profile.

The Bobcat T series is a compact track loader range. T series final drives operate under an entirely different load profile; counter-rotation is the primary steering mechanism, torsional load reversals occur dozens of times per operating hour, and the planetary gear set must absorb instantaneous torque reversals under full hydraulic pressure throughout every working day. An E series final drive fitted to a T series compact loader will develop bearing fatigue failure in a fraction of its rated service life because it was never engineered for the counter-rotation duty cycle the T series runs as standard.

At Imara Engineering, Bobcat E series final drives and Bobcat T series final drives are sourced, specified, and stocked as entirely separate product categories within our undercarriage parts range. We do not cross-list them. The machines are different, the duty cycles are different, and the final drive specifications reflect that difference at every engineering level.

Warning Signs, When Your Bobcat Final Drive Is Failing

Bobcat machines are responsive and predictable which makes deviations from normal travel behaviour identifiable earlier than on machines with less consistent hydraulic tuning. These are the signals that demand immediate attention across your Bobcat undercarriage parts:

  • Bobcat E series drifting to one side during travel — one final drive is underperforming. On a zero tail-swing E series machine operating in a confined site, this symptom disrupts precise positioning immediately.
  • Bobcat T series pulling under load during counter-rotation — a T series machine requiring noticeably different control input on left versus right counter-rotation has a final drive discrepancy the operator is compensating for without recognising it as a mechanical symptom.
  • Oil weeping from around the Bobcat drive sprocket — seal failure. On a T series machine, counter-rotation loads accelerate oil loss through a compromised seal faster than on an E series excavator.
  • Grinding or clunking noise during travel on E series, or during counter-rotation on T series — planetary gear wear. Travel-specific noise on an E series and counter-rotation-specific noise on a T series both identify the final drive planetary gear set as the source.
  • Reduced drive force on one side — partial planetary failure. Hydraulic pressure is reaching the unit but the Bobcat final drive is not converting it to full torque output.
  • Complete loss of drive on one side — end-stage planetary failure. Do not attempt to operate on the functioning side, the asymmetric load damages the sprocket, rubber track, and track adjuster on the working side simultaneously.

Bobcat T590 Final Drive, The Hire Fleet Specification We Never Let Run Out

The Bobcat T590 is not just a popular compact track loader, it is one of the most widely operated machines in the global plant hire sector. Its combination of rated operating capacity, travel speed, and lift performance has made it a default specification for hire fleets across construction, agricultural, and landscaping applications globally.

T590 final drives in hire applications accumulate hours across multiple operators with varying technique, on varying surfaces, in varying conditions. Counter-rotation loads that a careful owner-operator applies selectively are applied continuously on a hired machine. The result is a final drive replacement frequency higher per operating hour on hire T590 machines than on owner-operated units and a replacement urgency that is absolute, because a hired T590 with a failed final drive generates zero revenue from the moment of breakdown.

At Imara Engineering, the Bobcat T590 final drive is a dedicated priority stock specification. We hold units specifically because hire operators cannot absorb a sourced-to-order lead time on their most productive machine. The T590 also carries production variant risk; multiple configurations exist across its production history. Serial number verification is the step that determines whether the unit dispatched fits your specific machine.

What Every Imara Engineering Bobcat Final Drive Is Verified Against

Four checkpoints are applied to every Bobcat final drive before dispatch:

  • Serial number cross-reference against the Bobcat OEM parts database — E series and T series models both carry production variants with different hydraulic specifications, reduction ratios, and mounting configurations. Serial number verification is the only reliable basis for confirming the correct unit for your specific machine.
  • Torque reversal load rating confirmed for T series units — this is the specification checkpoint unique to compact loader final drives. The T series planetary gear set and bearing specification must be rated for counter-rotation torque reversals at operating pressure. This is the checkpoint most commonly absent from low-cost Bobcat T series replacements.
  • Hydraulic pressure integrity test at Bobcat-rated operating pressure — every unit tested at the hydraulic pressure rating for its specific E series or T series application. A unit that fails does not leave our facility.
  • Full oil charge and port protection — every Bobcat final drive ships with the correct-grade oil charge installed and hydraulic port protectors fitted. Ready to install on arrival.

OEM Bobcat final drives carry a brand premium above equivalent aftermarket specification. At Imara Engineering, the serial number verification, torque reversal rating confirmation, pressure test, and fitment guarantee replicate the Bobcat dealer standard. The premium does not.

What to Inspect Alongside a Bobcat Final Drive Replacement

The same operating loads that wear a Bobcat final drive are working on surrounding undercarriage parts simultaneously:

  • Bobcat Drive Sprocket — counter-rotation loads on T series machines compound the sprocket wear that an underperforming final drive generates. Inspect teeth for hook wear and flange damage. Replace alongside the final drive where wear is evident.
  • Bobcat Travel Motor — if the Bobcat final drive failed due to seal degradation and hydraulic fluid shows contamination, inspect the travel motor before refitting. A new final drive on a machine with a contaminated travel circuit is a repeat failure within months.
  • Rubber Tracks — abnormal Bobcat final drive behaviour creates uneven tension and lateral stress across the rubber track. On a T series compact loader, inner surface cracking is the track wear pattern most associated with final drive stress. Inspect both tracks when replacing a final drive. See our Bobcat Rubber Tracks page for E series and T series track specifications.
  • Track Adjusters — confirm correct tension is maintained independently of the final drive replacement. A worn Bobcat track adjuster that cannot hold tension puts immediate load on a new final drive from the first operating hour.
