Kubota Rubber Tracks- KX Series. U Series. Every Specification Confirmed.

From the U17 working in a residential garden to the KX121-3 cutting drainage channels across open farmland, Kubota mini excavators earn their keep through precision work in confined spaces and demanding ground conditions. The rubber tracks beneath them carry every operating hour of that work directly and when they are incorrectly specified, the consequences spread through the Kubota undercarriage parts system faster than on machines with looser engineering tolerances. The Kubota KX121-3 tracks and Kubota U17 tracks are among our most consistently demanded specifications and among the most frequently misquoted when buyers order from model name alone.

At Imara Engineering, we stock OEM-quality Kubota rubber tracks serial-number verified against the Kubota OEM parts database covering the full KX series from KX016 through KX161-3 and the full U series including the U17. Part of our broader undercarriage parts range, every track is confirmed to the correct Width × Pitch × Link Count, steel cord rating, and lug profile for your specific Kubota machine. We ship worldwide.

Kubota Rubber Track Specifications by Model

The KX and U series have been produced across multiple generations and regional configurations and the rubber track specification is not consistent across model names alone. The table below covers the most frequently ordered Kubota rubber track specifications. All must be confirmed against your machine serial number before ordering.

Kubota Mini Excavator, Compact Excavator & CTL Track Specifications

The Kubota KX016 and KX018 mini excavators typically use a 180 × 72 × 37 rubber track configuration. Minor variations can occur across production batches, so confirming the serial number is recommended before ordering.

For the Kubota KX040 mini excavator, the standard track size is 300 × 52.5 × 84, which remains consistent across most production years and is generally straightforward to match.

The Kubota KX057 is commonly fitted with 400 × 72.5 × 72 tracks. However, regional production differences may affect specifications, so it’s important to confirm the serial number.

Kubota KX080 mini excavators typically use a 450 × 81 × 76 rubber track configuration, with most machines sharing a consistent specification across production runs.

Moving to larger compact excavators, the Kubota KX121-3 uses a 500 × 92 × 78 track. This model has more specific dimensional requirements, making serial number verification essential to ensure correct fitment.

The Kubota KX161-3 requires a 550 × 100 × 82 track configuration. In addition to track size, undercarriage components such as track rollers may differ, so confirming the serial number is critical before replacement.

For zero tail-swing machines, the Kubota U17 uses a 230 × 48 × 66 track specification. This is one of the most commonly replaced Kubota track sizes, particularly in landscaping and light construction applications.

Kubota U27 and U35 models typically use 300 × 52.5 × 84 tracks. Production year variations exist, so confirming the serial number is recommended for accuracy.

The Kubota U48 and U55 zero tail-swing excavators are fitted with 400 × 72.5 × 72 tracks. These are higher load-rated configurations, making correct specification selection especially important.

For compact track loaders, the Kubota SVL75-2 uses a 320 × 86 × 52 track. This is a CTL-specific specification, requiring a reinforced rubber track with a stiffer steel cord core to handle higher torque and operating loads.

All specifications must be confirmed against your machine serial number. The KX121-3 and KX161-3 carry specific dimensional requirements that differ from the standard KX series. The Kubota SVL75-2 rear idler and track specification differs from KX and U series excavator specifications — always specify machine type when ordering.

Warning Signs, When Your Kubota Rubber Tracks Need Replacing

Kubota's precise undercarriage engineering means a worn rubber track distributes abnormal stress across the Kubota undercarriage system faster than on less tightly toleranced machines. Replace your Kubota rubber tracks if you are seeing any of the following:

  • Tracks derailing on turns or slopes — steel core stretch beyond what the Kubota track adjuster can compensate for. A replacement situation, not a tensioning one.
  • Steel cord visible at the outer or inner track surface — full compound wear-through. Every operating hour from this point risks sudden separation.
  • Cracking across or between lugs — compound hardening from UV exposure, over-tensioning, or age. Surface cracks propagate under operating load.
  • Uneven lug wear across track width — the Kubota track is running off-centre. Inspect Kubota idler wheel alignment and track adjuster condition alongside replacement.
  • Drive lug damage on the inner surface — abnormal sprocket contact shearing material from the drive lugs. Inspect Kubota sprocket tooth profile before fitting a new track.
  • Track adjuster at maximum extension — stretched beyond the adjuster's travel range. Replace immediately.

Kubota KX121-3 and KX161-3, Why These Models Require Extra Attention

The Kubota KX121-3 and KX161-3 sit at the boundary between compact and mid-size excavator machines widely operated by agricultural contractors and civil groundwork operators who depend on them for seasonal drainage programmes and heavy earthworks. These machines work hard, accumulate operating hours fast, and their rubber tracks reflect that intensity.

The Kubota KX121-3 tracks carry a specific dimensional requirement 500 × 92 × 78 on most production variants that differs meaningfully from the standard KX series below it. The Kubota KX161-3 track roller specification and rubber track specification are both distinct from the KX121-3. Neither model can be specified reliably from model name alone across their production histories.

At Imara Engineering, KX121-3 and KX161-3 rubber track orders are processed against the machine serial number as a non-negotiable first step. We hold both specifications in dedicated stock given the replacement demand from agricultural and civil contracting operators who cannot afford sourcing lead times during a drainage season or active groundworks programme.

Kubota U17,  The Landscaping Sector's Most Replaced Specification

The Kubota U17 is the zero tail-swing machine that powers the residential and commercial landscaping sector,  operating in confined gardens, on finished lawns, and in tight urban access conditions where no other machine fits. It runs intensive daily cycles, repositions constantly, and is regularly operated at its hydraulic capacity in conditions that demand both surface protection and operational precision.

The Kubota U17 rubber track most commonly 230 × 48 × 66 is one of the most consistently fast-moving specifications in our Kubota range. Not because the track is poorly engineered, but because the machine it serves works harder than its 1.7-tonne operating weight implies. The Kubota idler wheel on the U17 is equally subject to wear from the high-cycle repositioning that defines U17 operation inspect the idler wheel condition alongside every U17 rubber track replacement.

Kubota SVL75-2, Compact Track Loader Specification

The Kubota SVL75-2 is a compact track loader and its rubber track specification is fundamentally different from the KX and U series excavator range. The SVL75-2 rear idler, sprocket, and rubber track are all specified for the counter-rotation operating profile of compact loader operation, not the directional travel profile of excavator work.

The SVL75-2 rubber track carries a stiffer steel cord core rated for counter-rotation lateral shear, the same engineering requirement that distinguishes all compact loader rubber tracks from excavator specifications. Fitting a KX or U series excavator track to an SVL75-2 will produce premature delamination regardless of size compatibility. Always specify SVL75-2 as the machine type not KX121-3 or any other KX series designation when ordering Kubota compact track loader rubber tracks.

OEM Quality. Kubota Specification. Without the Dealer Premium.

Every Kubota rubber track supplied by Imara Engineering is manufactured to three engineering standards confirmed against Kubota OEM specification for each KX and U series model:

  • Continuous spiral-wound steel cord core — rated to Kubota's published tensile specification for each model. Under-rated cord produces the premature derailing that Kubota's tight undercarriage tolerances make worse than on less precisely engineered machines.
  • High-carbon rubber compound — formulated for the range of conditions Kubota machines operate in — cut resistance for construction and drainage applications, abrasion tolerance for agricultural terrain, and UV stability for machines operating outdoors year-round.
  • OEM-matched pitch and lug geometry — dimensionally accurate to Kubota KX and U series specification so the track engages the Kubota sprocket tooth profile and Kubota idler wheel correctly from the first operating hour.

OEM Kubota rubber tracks carry a brand premium above equivalent quality aftermarket specification. At Imara Engineering, the steel cord rating, compound specification, pitch accuracy, and fitment guarantee replicate the Kubota dealer standard. The premium does not.

What to Inspect Before Fitting New Kubota Rubber Tracks

Kubota's compact and precisely integrated undercarriage means worn surrounding components damage a new rubber track faster than on larger, more tolerant machines:

  • Kubota Sprockets — hook wear or pointed tooth profile shears drive lugs from the new track's inner surface within a fraction of expected service life. Inspect and replace where wear is evident.
  • Kubota Idler Wheels — a worn KX or U series idler flange causes the new track to run off-centre immediately. The Kubota idler wheel is a particularly important inspection point on U17 machines given the high-cycle repositioning that defines U17 operation.
  • Kubota Track Adjusters — a worn or leaking adjuster cannot maintain correct tension on the new track from day one. Confirm conditions before installation.
  • Kubota Track Rollers — a seized bottom roller creates a point load on the rubber track inner surface. Inspect all rollers before fitting new tracks.
